Who we are

Pieter van der Poel
MBA
Founder and CEOI have extensive experience in oncology, focusing on breast and lung cancer. As a marketeer, I recognize the crucial role of robust AI tools in screening for lung cancer and other thoracic diseases. Our CMO, Professor Samaržija, emphasizes, “This is for the next one hundred years.”
I am committed to advancing these tools, even though such solutions don’t yet exist. Providing people with the knowledge about their lung health is essential. Early screening saves lives, and automation tools will significantly benefit humanity globally.
Screening should be accessible to everyone!

Guillaume Calmon
M. Sc. Chief Technical Officer
I am passionate about transforming healthcare through innovation. With extensive experience in R&D, marketing, and business development in medical imaging and healthcare IT, I bring a unique perspective to the PRMSE: mission.
My recent focus on advancing AI technologies, especially generative AI, aligns with our goal to make early lung cancer detection accessible worldwide. This mission is deeply personal to me, as I’ve lost several family members to lung cancer. I’m committed to using my expertise to drive impactful change and save lives through early screening.

Manuela van der Poel
Dipl.Ing. Chief Marketing & Operations Officer
I am totally determined about driving forward PRMSE: which aims at catching lung cancer early and thus eventually saving lives. We strive for making our tool accessible as soon as possible to each and everyone, providing the chance for a cure.
I am bringing in all the experience from my former positions and the absolute dedication to this important project.
Our Vision
PRMSE: Screening for All
PRMSE: uses computer vision, which is a part of Artificial Intelligence (AI). Our solutions interpret low-dose CT images taken of the lungs of people at high risk for lung cancer. With our solutions, we aim to make lung cancer screening and thus early treatment widely accessible. We see ourselves as crucial for lung cancer screening programs. We aim to contribute through partnerships with radiology companies, AI service providers and healthcare organisations.
PRMSE: wants to make screening accessible for each and everyone, starting with people at high risk for lung cancer.
Our Mission
PRMSE: is approaching the challenge of creating automated analysis from the side of computer vision, a part of artificial intelligence that teaches itself how to interpret images and derive the relevant information from these images. PRMSE: thereby creates a reliable screening tool that fills the huge gap of the thousands of missing reading radiologists.
The automated analysis of low dose CT lung images at the earliest possible early stage, on a broad scale, is the key to giving people at high risk for lung cancer initially the chance to be screened and a cure. We see PRMSE: as an integral part of lung cancer screening programs. We aim to reach these objectives via partnerships with OEM radiology companies, AI platform service providers and healthcare provider organisations.
Our Philosophy
Lung cancer kills more men and women than colon cancer, prostate cancer and breast cancer combined.
If detected early people can get a cure.
PRMSE: aims to give everyone the chance to get screened at an early stage by creating tools that provide robust reading of CT images in an automated way, thus not calling on radiologists. We aim to realise these goals by bringing the experts from all sectors together - clinics, science, AI, healthcare.
Our Values
Respect for the individual
We believe that everyone deserves to know about a severe disease in an early stage where cure still is highly likely.
With PRMSE: as an integral part of a broad, uncomplicated screening program that is accessible to everyone patients safety does not remain an empty promise. The option for early lung cancer detection and subsequently a cure should be available for everyone on the globe.
Passion
We believe that we are able to create the technology that makes early lung cancer screening accessible for everyone.
We are decided to drive this approach and thus contribute to making lung cancer a profoundly curable disease.
Transparency
We bring all relevant experts together to create our product based on their individual knowledge. All stakeholders will always be on the same page.
We communicate our intentions and ideas with clarity and commitment.
Humbleness
We understand that everywhere on the globe experts are doing the utmost to combat lung cancer and are open to the entire expertise coming from them.
We cherish their dedication and effort for the sake of the patients.
Responsibility
We totally understand that our mission comes with a high responsibility to create solutions that can decide over live and death of the individual. We will do anything to ensure the safety of the patient throughout whatever we do. Patients safety has number one priority for us and we will ensure that it is secured at any time. Radiologists are co-developing our product and accompany the development until full reliability is given.
Reliability
We stand to our commitments.
Societal Responsibility
We will contribute to a lung cancer screening project in Afrika, in order to help identify people at risk and to improve their chances of healing.
In addition, we will support a program aimed at preventing young people from picking up smoking.

“Estimation of risk in lung cancer screening I see as an important. Ever improving this estimation based on images and other information serves the population at risk for lung cancer. The path PRMSE: is on holds promise."
